Chantal Meng is a visual artist and researcher who completed her PhD at Goldsmiths University of London, where she was the recipient of the Stuart Hall PhD Scholarship. Chantal was awarded a Doc.Mobility Fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation in 2020 and a Fulbright in 2015. She holds an MA in Photography + Urban Cultures with distinction from Goldsmiths (Department of Sociology).
Prior to her academic career, Chantal co-founded the design studio POL and the art space Grand Palais in Bern, Switzerland. She also initiated Night Drawing, a research project investigating the relationship between darkness and light in the urban night. Currently, Chantal is a visiting scholar in the Department of Anthropology at the New School for Social Research (NSSR) in New York.
