The Office of Admission offers in-person and online events, including campus tours, specifically for students offered admission for spring 2024. Admitted students are encouraged to register for these events. 

Admitted Student Events

The Office of Admission offers appointments for prospective applicants and family members who would like to meet individually with an admission counselor to identify best-fit programs and discuss the admission process. To schedule an appointment, email [email protected]. 

Application Preparation Workshops offer tools to prospective students planning to apply to a New School program. The workshops cover all aspects of the application process, including audition and portfolio preparation, writing a strong statement of purpose and/or essay, and gathering and submitting supplemental materials.

Student-led campus tours introduce visitors to our academic facilities. Student housing is not included. Only those with appointments will be able to tour campus. Please register for the tour most appropriate for your interests:

• Undergraduate Programs Tours—These 90-minute student-led campus tours introduce visitors to the undergraduate academic facilities at Parsons School of Design, Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, and/or the College of Performing Arts. These tours provide a general and broad overview of campus facilities frequented by undergraduate students at The New School. Those seeking a more focused introduction to a particular area of study are encouraged to register for a school-specific tour. 
• Lang Campus Tour—These 60-minute student-led campus tours introduce visitors to the undergraduate academic facilities at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts. Those seeking a more general and broad overview of undergraduate study at The New School, including study at Parsons School of Design and/or the College of Performing Arts, are encouraged to register for an Undergraduate Programs tour. 

We limit registrants to one guest to provide the best overall experience for visitors and accommodate the maximum number of prospective students on our tours. Many of our facilities, including elevators and hallways, cannot accommodate large groups. If not fully booked, we may allow more than one guest to join a tour at the guide's discretion. We appreciate your understanding.

Experience a New School education for yourself by sitting in on a class. Lang class visits are available during the fall and spring semesters.

These events are open fairs for prospective undergraduate students, at which Admission representatives staff a table on behalf of The New School. They serve as an initial point of contact between students and colleges without students needing to travel to visit the college itself, allowing them to interact with admission representatives from a wide range of post-secondary institutions.

Our Undergraduate Information Sessions are 45- to 60-minute presentations by Admission staff and/or faculty, designed for students interested in applying for admission. These sessions not only provide information about Lang but also highlight the other schools within The New School, including the College of Performing Arts, Parsons School of Design, and Parsons Paris.

We provide students and families with information about navigating the college search process, preparing an application for admission, financing a college education, and what it's like to study at The New School in New York City.

Join The New School for a special virtual event designed for high school juniors beginning their college search for fall 2027.

At this event, students and families will learn how to:

• Navigate the college search process
• Prepare a strong application for admission
• Evaluate and choose between offers of admission
• Understand financial aid and the cost of college
• Explore what it’s like to study at The New School in New York City

Prospective students will also have the opportunity to connect with current students and admission staff, learn more about our undergraduate degree and pre-college programs, and gain confidence in identifying the college that’s the right fit for them.
