    David Thomson has worked as a collaborative artist in the fields of music, dance, theater and performance with such artists as Trisha Brown (‘87-‘93), Jane Comfort, Bebe Miller, Susan Rethorst, Remy Charlip, David Roussève, Ralph Lemon, Tracie Morris, Muna Tseng, Sekou Sundiata, Meg Stuart, Dean Moss/Layla Ali and Marina Abramovic´ among many others. He was also a founding member of the acclaimed a capella performance group, Hot Mouth. His work has been presented by The Kitchen, Danspace Project at St Mark's Church, Dance Theater Workshop, Roulette and Movement Research at Judson Church.

    Research Interests:

    how to develop tasks that reveal the inner logic and vulnerabilities of the interpreter; reduction of movement to clarify and multiply intent for performer and viewer; creating intimate chamber works and experiences

    2001 Studio Assistant Scholarship in Japanese Papermaking, Penland School of Crafts. 2001 New York Dance and Performance Award (Bessie) for Sustained Achievement in Performance 2003 Artists Resource Media (ARM) Fellowship 2006 New York Dance and Performance Award (Bessie) as part of the creative team in Landing/Place 2012 USA Ford Fellow
