Anya Kurennaya is a graduate of the MA Fashion Studies program at Parsons School of Design, having previously studied linguistics and foreign languages at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and at McGill University in Montreal. She has served as adjunct faculty in the Art and Design History and Theory department at Parsons since 2012. She has taught courses on hip hop culture and style, fashion and celebrity culture, fashion and language, the makeover and designer culture, and even a course examining social, cultural, and historical perspectives on hair. She is also developing new undergraduate courses in fashion writing and zine culture. Anya is currently working to publish selections from her master's thesis, entitled “Look What the Cat Dragged In: Masculinity, Sexuality and Authenticity in 1980s Glam Metal.”
