    Trista E. Mallory holds a PhD in Art and Visual Culture from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, an M.A. in Art History from Binghamton University and a B.A. in Art History from the University of Rochester. She is currently Faculty and Instructor for Curatorial Studies at the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in New York, and was a Critical Studies participant at the ISP in 2011-12. She is serving as editor of an experimental section of Women&Performance: a journal of feminist theory called "&" (Ampersand) which consists of short provocative works online and in print. She has published in Afterimage and is co-editing "A Gun For Every Girl" a double special issue of the Journal of Feminist Scholarship forthcoming spring 2017. Her dissertation Standing for Something Not Present explores contested histories in contemporary art. Her research interests include, critical theory and pedagogy, contemporary feminisms and feminist theory, post-colonialism, psychoanalysis, methodologies of art history, histories and theories of exhibitions and institutional critique.
