Brennan Gerard (US, born 1978) and Ryan Kelly (US, born 1979) have collaborated since 2003. Working within an interdisciplinary framework to create project-based installations and performances, Gerard & Kelly use choreography, writing, video, and a range of other media to address questions of sexuality, collective memory, and the formation of queer consciousness. Recent solo exhibitions have been held at the New Museum, NY (2015); The Kitchen, NY (2014); and Kate Werble Gallery, NY (2013). Their work was included in the Made in LA 2014 biennial at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, and received the 2014 Juried Award from the New York Dance and Performance Awards, also known as the Bessies.
