  • Rory received his PhD from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University (dissertation titled Science Fiction and Mystic Fact: Robert Smithson’s Ways of World Making). He has an MA from the Institute and a BA in art history and English from Connecticut College. He was recipient of the Grey Art Gallery Graduate Curatorial Assistant Fellowship at NYU; the Lila Acheson Wallace Fellowship for Modern Art; and the Karen and Leo Gutmann Foundation Award. He has been Visiting Critic at Yale University School of Art MFA program, and his professional experience includes freelance author of educational textbooks on art historical topics for elementary school. Rory first joined Parsons as part-time faculty in Fall 2014, and has taught “Integrative Seminar 1: Shift,” “Integrative Seminar 2: Visual Culture” (two sections), and “Critical Reading & Writing.”
