Provides an overview of the legal, ethical, and economic aspects of the practice of interior design. Students critique contemporary models of practice and study the role of economics, contracts, liability, licensure, and standards of practice in shaping the contemporary professions of interior design. Practice related issues are probed, such as local and world economic conditions, getting started, competitions, getting published, and social responsibility. The goal of the seminar is to broaden and deepen an understanding of the profession, its role in society, and the possibilities for a designers place within it.Open to: All university degree students
