Outgoing Students

Parsons offers its students three study abroad options: study at Parsons Paris for up to two semesters, study for a semester in an exchange program, and study in a direct application program.

Parsons Paris

Students can apply to study in Paris as mobility students once they meet the following criteria:

  • They have completed at least one year at their home campus.
  • They are in at least the second semester of their sophomore year.
  • They are not in their final year of study.
  • They have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • They have no major disciplinary actions on their record.

Major Requirements for Mobility in Paris

Not all majors offered in New York are also offered in Paris. Parsons Paris currently offers BBA Strategic Design and Management, BFA Fashion Design, and BFA Arts, Media, and Technology. Please note the following restrictions on certain majors studying in Paris:

  • BFA Communication Design, BFA Design and Technology, BFA Fine Arts, BFA Illustration, and BFA Photography students can study in Paris only during their junior year.
  • BFA Photography students can only study for one semester, preferably in the spring.
  • BFA Fine Arts students can study in Paris only in the spring semester of their junior year.

Application Materials, Instructions, and Deadlines

Fill out the digital application completely, sign it, and return it to your academic advisor by email. Your advisor will review your application and forward it to the coordinator for Study Abroad. You will receive a confirmation within two days of your application reaching the coordinator for Study Abroad.

Part of the application is a personal statement. In this statement you should speak to your interest in studying in Paris specifically and in studying art and design in a French context, as well as your ability to speak or willingness to learn the French language. Your personal statement will be a major weighing factor in your application.

Students can apply for up to two semesters. Students who apply by the priority deadline will be placed before students applying by the secondary deadline.
