First-Year Students

ADVISING AND REGISTRATION

Beginning in early June, accepted students who have submitted the Admission Reply Form and required tuition deposit should receive an email sent from Parsons' Office of Advising to their New School email address. This message introduces the student's academic advisor and give instructions for scheduling an appointment for advising and registration. All new students must return the Admission Reply Form and pay the tuition deposit in order to register for classes.

Students entering Parsons as BFA freshmen take the same required first-year courses, regardless of their intended majors.

Please be early and prepare at least five schedules to register for your advising meeting. All Foundation students sign up for studio classes in a group labeled with the same letter section.

We look forward to seeing you at Parsons.

Orientation

New Student Orientation (for all new degree students) runs August 19-25, 2013. Please review the New Student Orientation page for the full schedule.

THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU REGISTER FOR CLASSES

  1. Activate your MyNewSchool account. You will need the following information:
    • New School ID number (i.e., N00000000). Your N number is found in your Parsons acceptance letter.

  2. If you are a transfer student or have taken courses in high school for college credit (e.g., AP or IB), make a point of discussing this with your academic advisor. Bring all relevant information to your advising meeting.
  3. Check your schedule after you register
    • Log in to MyNewSchool.
    • Select the "Student" tab.
