Disheartened by the uncertainty and uncreative aspects of her previous career, Francesca DeMauro revived a latent fascination with fashion marketing and made a beeline for the stability (and the glamour) of the luxury goods market, via Parsons’ one-year, Fast-Track AAS Fashion Marketing curriculum. “I knew even on the first day that Parsons was the best place to be. Everyone in my classes was there because they really wanted to be there; they really wanted to study. And it was a perfect fit for my aspirations.” Her mentor at Parsons paved the way for a summer internship at Judith Leiber, the luxury accessories firm where DeMauro found herself working on actual projects, “not making copies.” When she finished her AAS studies, Leiber created a position for DeMauro that combines and deploys her full spectrum of strategic and artistic talents in service to the brand.
Most recently, DeMauro has served as a business consultant for industries ranging from luxury accessories, sportswear, and home goods to food industries in Southeast Asian markets. In this role, DeMauro has developed branding and marketing campaigns using graphic design and project management skills gained at Parsons to create effective collateral and packaging—engaging pursuits that her previous career never could have delivered.
