BFA Communication Design: Exquisite Corpse Typography Installion: Altos De Chavon Partners With Parsons The New School For Design

Based on the century-old surrealist poetry and drawing technique of Exquisite Corpse, typography students from Parsons the New School for Design and Altos de Chavón in the Dominican Republic joined forces in a collaborative project “Exquisite Corpse Typography.” Students from Parsons designed the left side of the letter and students from Altos de Chavón designed the right side. The letters were then scanned and joined with Photoshop to create experimental letterforms on view throughout the Festival. None of the participants saw the work by their collaborators during the creative process. This project marks the first time that students from Parsons and Altos worked concurrently across the oceans that spans the distance between them.  This event will run from 5/7-5/23, each day from 10am-6pm. 

This event is a part of the Parsons Festival 2011.
