WantedDesign's Design Students Challenge

PART OF PARSONS FESTIVAL 2012: WantedDesign, an New York organization created as a platform for design events, launches “Design Students Challenge” at this year's International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). Over the course of three days, design students from the United States and France will use one material, computer software, and a Trotec laser cutting machine to fabricate a lighting device of their own invention. At the end of three days, designs will be presented and judged by the public and a jury of professional designers. This collaboration between six design schools includes students from a range of disciplines at Parsons The New School for Design, Art Center College of Design, Savannah College of Art and Design, ENSCI les ateliers, Ecole Boulle and Ecole supérieure d’art et design Saint-Etienne. Monday May 21, 1-3pm: final products will be on view for public vote (workshop space).
