  • Jonathan has been working at the intersection of urbanism and art for more than 8 years. He was the Communications and Design Manager for a large-scale cultural urban development project in downtown Montreal baptized the Quartier des Spectacles, an architectural photographer for the City of Montréal and a freelance / consultant on various urban related projects with organizations such as 596 Acres, the Canadian Center for Architecture, Heritage Montréal, Society for Arts and Technology, Street Vendor Project at the Urban Justice Center and many more. As part of the Uneven Growth exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), he directed with Cohabitation Strategies (CohStra) a series of four short documentaries about the economic, social and spatial inequalities mirrored in the unprecedented housing crisis in New York City. Jonathan holds a BA in film and cultural production strategies from UQAM in Montréal, a graduate certificat in Design Methods and Processes from Hasso Platner Institute in Berlin, as well as an MS in Design and Urban Ecologies from Parsons The New School for Design. His studies and professional practice have brought him to Montréal, New York, Berlin, Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Mostar, Medellin, Venice and other cities, where he got the opportunity to engage with contemporary processes of urbanization. Here ar The New School, Jonathan worked as a research assistant with the DESIS Lab and the School of Constructed Environment, and as a Teaching + Research Assistant for three classes: Service Design Concepts, Sustainable Systems and Urban Theory Lab. He was also selected as a Research / Teaching Fellow for two workshops in collaboration with the International Design and Architecture Program at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok for two workshops: Phnom Penh - Living Arts City, and Bangkok - Mega Urban Ecologies.
