Assistant Professor of Fashion Design
Richard Rosenfeld is a faculty member in the Fashion School BFA where he is an Assistant Professor of Fashion Studies and the Fashion Drawing Coordinator. He has worked as a fashion artist at Women's Wear Daily, Conde Nast Publications (Glamour magazine) and at a number of department stores, including Neiman Marcus. His work has appeared in Vogue, Seventeen, Brides, The New York Times, Time magazine and the monograph WWD Illustrated: 1960s - 1990's published by Fairchild Books and Visuals, 2003. Richard began teaching at Parsons in the Illustration Department in 1979 and moved to the Fashion Design Department in 1984. He has also taught at Pratt and The Fashion Institute of Technology. Recently for Francisco Costa at Calvin Klein Collections he drew the Spring 2010 runway looks as they were being created on the model. He also sketched some of the Calvin Klein gowns that were worn at the 2009 Academy Awards. Richard's figurative work has been exhibited at the Leslie-Lohman gallery and his fashion drawings were included in the exhibit The Line of Fashion at the Society of Illustrators in April of 2009.
