Author and editor; essays in several anthologies, including Redirecting the Gaze (SUNY Press, 1998) and Cinema and Nation (Routledge, 2001). She holds a joint appointment with Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts, where she is chair of Cultural Studies.
