Profile:

Writer, editor, and author. In 1988 he founded and continues to edit The Information Advisor, an international monthly journal for professional researchers. He has authored several books on the media, research, and technology, including The Art of Strategic Listening (2008); Digital Dilemmas: Ethical Issues for Online Media Professionals (Blackwell, 2003, co-authored with Chris Shumway); The Skeptical Searcher (CyberAge, 2004); and Find it Fast: How to Uncover Expert Information on Any Subject (HarperCollins, 5th ed. 2000). His current research focus is on social media.
