    Family Orientation

Get to know the administrators and faculty members who will be supporting your student during two special days of workshops for families on August 18-19, 2019. Then, show your New School pride during our welcome parade on August 19, 2019.

Registration is now open! To sign up, download two items on your phone: the Guidebook app and the New School New Families Orientation 2019 guide.

    1. Download the Guidebook app in the App Store or Google Play and open the app.
    2. Tap the Find Guides button at the bottom of the screen.
    3. Search for New School Families.
    4. Find the New School New Families Orientation 2019 guide, featuring a black icon of the New School logo, and tap it.
    5. Click the blue button to download.

Once you're in our guide, tap the three-line hamburger menu icon in the upper-left-hand corner; then click the Get Started folder to view the full event schedule and get instructions for creating your schedule. After reviewing the schedule and directions, click each category in the navigation and begin adding events to your schedule.

If you need help registering, consult these instructions.

Check Guidebook often this summer, as we'll continue adding new events and app features.

For the workshop schedule, visit the New School Families Microsite.

    Family Weekend

Join us October 4-6, 2019, for Family Weekend, when you can connect with other New School families and enjoy events such as a jazz brunch, a field day at Governors Island, group tours of Ellis Island, and more! And explore The New School's past, present, and future during the Centennial celebration, The Festival of New.

For a preview of events, visit our New School Families Event Guide.

    New School Gear

Don't yet have your New School gear? Visit The New Store in the lobby of the University Center, 63 Fifth Avenue. You can also shop a special collection for families and pre-purchase for pickup when you arrive on campus!

    Additional Resources
