Important Fall 2018 Dates for Families of New Students

    Family Orientation

Family Orientation for incoming fall 2018 families takes place on Tuesday, August 21. All new families are invited to attend. Family Orientation is full of activities and events, including special workshops just for family members, that will introduce you to New School life, campus services and resources, a community of other New School families, and all that awaits your student here.

    How to Register for Orientation

All families attending Orientation must register in advance through RegPack, the same system that their student uses. This free registration system will ask you to create a username and password, which will allow you to register for events throughout Family Orientation. If you have any questions or need additional assistance registering for Orientation, please email orientation@newschool.edu.

    Payment and Waiver Deadlines

August 24: New student tuition, fees, and housing payment (if applicable) due. Learn more about payment by visiting Student Accounts, or registration and refunds by visiting the Registrar website.

September 9: Online waiver for New School Student Health Services and Insurance due. Learn more about student health insurance through Student Health Services.

    First-Year Family Weekend: October 26-28

First-Year Family Weekend is an opportunity for families to engage in conversation with students about their studies and experiences, attend a Q&A with President David Van Zandt, participate in workshops and open houses, and take part in a 5K run/walk/roll. See what our campus and New York City have to offer! Read our guide for details of registration, accommodations, check-in, and more.

    Additional Resources

The Parent Portal hosts Student Connect, where you can request access to your student's educational information for the 2018-2019 academic year. If your student approves your request, you can use Student Connect to view his or her GPA, enrollment status, and class schedule.

For a parent to access a student's billing accounts and financial aid information, the student must grant the parent access to his or her account as an authorized user through MyNewSchool.
