New Student Orientation for new on-campus undergraduate and graduate students beginning their studies in the fall 2017 semester takes place Monday, August 21, through Sunday, August 27, 2017. Orientation is intended to help students become members of our university community. Students receive important information about academic policies and the course registration process for their school. In addition, workshops introduce students to resources and services available at The New School. New Student Orientation is about making connections with the university, other students, and New York City. All new students are expected to attend New Student Orientation.
Note: Attendance at certain orientation sessions is mandatory. Carefully review the schedule for your school or program and note the required events.

All new on-campus undergraduate and graduate students will move into the residence halls on Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20, according to the following check-in schedule:
Optional parent orientations will take place on the evenings of Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20, and all day on Monday, August 21. Note: Events occurring on Saturday will be repeated for students and parents checking in on Sunday. Students and parents who are scheduled to check in on Sunday will not miss any important information sessions. More details will be available after July 1, 2017.
