  • The New School offers a student health insurance plan to all degree (including online-only), visiting, mobility (study abroad), maintenance-of-status, Lang and Parsons consortium, ESL + certificate, graduate credit certificate, and graduate and undergraduate degree non-matriculating students. Students enrolling through Open Campus are not eligible and are not charged for student health insurance.

The Student Health Insurance Plan is an integral part of the university's efforts to promote the well-being of our students. Students who have a comparable U.S.-based, ACA-compliant plan that covers them in their place of study may request a waiver. More details about the 2020-2021 plan will be available soon.

Students who plan to return to New York for the summer are not eligible to request a termination of the spring semester student health insurance coverage. If termination is approved, the refund will be prorated as of the first day of the next month. For example, a termination approved on April 20 will be actively terminated and prorated from May 1 on.
