Week-long orientation seminar | All students participate in the orientation seminar. For on-campus students, the seminar generally takes place on the Parsons campus in NYC.

Flexible schedule for working professionals | Most courses are held on weeknights, allowing daytime hours for professional commitments. Each semester, one asynchronous course enriches your learning through individual research (fall course), professional development (spring course), and the opportunity to finalize your capstone project (summer). (Students with daytime jobs can complete the degree entirely in the evening.)
| Each week, you have at least one synchronous online class session of approximately three hours, which minimizes the program’s impact on your regular work schedule. These sessions are scheduled on the weekends at 9:00 a.m. ET, allowing weekday hours for professional commitments. Considerations for international students | The New School is able to grant F-1 and J-1 visas for international students enrolled in the on-campus program.
| International students are welcome to pursue the online degree program but should be aware that F-1 or J-1 visas are not available for students who take courses in this format.
