    Curriculum and course content

    Both on-campus and online students have the same curriculum, and students earn the same degree. The difference between the programs is the length of the individual courses. In on-campus program, most courses run concurrently for the entire 15-week semester.

    Week-long orientation seminar

    All students participate in the orientation seminar. For on-campus students, the seminar generally takes place on the Parsons campus in NYC.

    Option to complete the program from anywhere in the world

    No. You are required to attend weekly on-campus classes.

    Yes. You participate in a weekly schedule of real-time class sessions, held using a combination of the Canvas Learning Management System and video conferencing.

    Flexible schedule for working professionals

    Most of the courses are held during weeknights, allowing you to honor other professional commitments.

    Each week, you have at least one real-time online class session, lasting approximately three hours, which minimizes any impact on your regular work schedule.

    Considerations for international students

    The New School is able to grant F-1 and J-1 visas for international students enrolled in the on-campus program.

    International students are welcome to pursue the online degree program but should be aware that F-1 or J-1 visas are not available for students who pursue this format.

    Interaction with classmates

    You come to campus for multiple weekly classes and engage in group work throughout each semester. 

    You attend a weekly class session held in real time and engage in group work with your cohort throughout each semester.

    Access to on-campus events, resources, and facilities

    You have full access to all events and program-related facilities at Parsons and The New School.

    You have access to digital libraries and, when in NYC, to all on-site facilities and on-campus events.
