This hands-on live session online studio is an introductory exploration of digital photography to document the unique spaces, objects, and people that inspire your creativity. Students are introduced to digital apps to build portfolio and presentation
skills. Students use still photography to capture the world around them to inspire themes as they create visual narratives. Students view current exhibits through virtual field trips and are visited online by professionals working in the field. This
course requires a DSLR camera and access to an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (not included).
Fashion Design, Grades 9-12

Design and visually communicate your original ideas for fashion in this hands-on live session online design studio. An expert in the field of fashion guides you in developing and interpreting your research and concepts to the creation of drawings and
presentations at an introductory level. You’ll explore a variety of making skills to interpret original ideas for fashion from 2D to 3D using traditional and non-traditional techniques and materials such as paper draping, material handcraft manipulations,
and basic hand or machine sewn mockups. A sewing machine is not required. The creative process, trends, and careers are further explored in virtual field trips and online visits by industry professionals.
Fashion Styling Studio, Grades 9-12

This hands-on live session online course provides the fundamentals of wardrobe styling. Students learn about some of the core requirements that come with being a stylist, including imagination, research, communication, and collaboration. Students develop
the skill of processing ideas to build mood boards and have the chance to see some of their ideas come to life. This leads to firsthand experiences that teach students how to creatively and technically adjust for both on- and off-figure styling. Ultimately
students explore how to use clothing as a vehicle for storytelling.

Develop your ability to draw from observation, a cornerstone of visual expression, in this hands-on live session online fine arts studio. You’ll explore unique locations, spaces, objects, and people that inspire to complete portraits, landscapes, and
imaginative projects. Develop your skill in using the language of mark making, including line, value, texture, and composition. Students view current exhibits through virtual field trips and are visited online by working artists.

Expand your drawing proficiency and learn new painting techniques as you develop a thematic sequence of images in this hands-on live session online fine arts studio. Strengthen your technical and visual problem-solving skills through structured projects
in which you investigate form, color, and composition. Research, virtual field trips, and online visits from working artists deepen your understanding of the ways artists solve problems. Prerequisite: Fine Arts I or an equivalent drawing class.
Graphic Design, Grades 9-12

Learn the fundamentals of graphic design in this hands-on live session online design studio. Graphic design is all around you—on subway posters, websites, T-shirts, candy wrappers. It is the medium in which words and images combine to communicate messages
effectively. In this online studio, students focus on learning analog and digital creative problem-solving techniques and the basics of graphic form and expressive typography. This course requires access to an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (not
included).
Illustration, Grades 9-12

Learn the fundamentals of Illustration in this hands-on live session online design studio. Illustrators are visual thinkers who create comics, computer and film animation, video games, children’s books, graphics for skateboards, images for magazines and
newspapers, and many other kinds of visuals. Students are introduced to the types of projects contemporary illustrators work on and helps them develop their skills and style. This course requires access to Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent free/affordable
digital drawing apps.
Interior Design, Grades 9-12

Learn the fundamentals of interior design in this hands-on live session online design studio. Students work with a professional designer on a complete interior design project, from initial concept to final presentation. They develop skills in freehand
sketching, manual drafting, collage, and model building while representing and testing spatial and material ideas. Students consider clients’ needs and aesthetic preferences as they design a functional interior and choose appropriate finishes. Coursework
focuses on spatial design applications and concepts rather than interior decorating.
Portfolio Development Strategies (Online), Grades 9-12

Online Asynchronous Sessions
This 5 week online asynchronous course focuses on portfolio development strategies for students who are in the process of applying to colleges of art and design. We will explore what a portfolio is, share examples, and discuss how it can be a powerful
tool to share your creative voice. Students will gain access to video tutorials and online resources to explore techniques for shooting quality images of work samples and how to layout visually striking final images using digital imaging software.
We will explore how to leverage a sketchbook as an integral part of the portfolio as well as tips for including and writing a compelling personal artist statement. This course will help boost your confidence as you gear up for clicking submit on your
college application and we’ll have a lot of fun crafting your unique portfolio along the way.
