Where are you from, and where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.
Do you feel at home in Paris?
I think I finally do now, in my third year. I now feel like Paris is home because I know the city, have a Parisian apartment, and have amazing friends who feel like family here.
How does Paris inspire you in your own work?
Paris has inspiration everywhere you turn, from the interesting people walking around to the food and all of the sights. But I think Paris has most inspired me to take in everything as much as I can and appreciate life!
What is your favorite class?
My favorite class is Integrative Research and Development, with Maurits Montañez, which merges futurist thinking, design thinking, and strategic research. It is a really unique and interesting class.
Where have you interned over the last two years?
I have had six internships over the past two years — two digital marketing internships based in Toronto, and four internships based in Paris. Three of the four Parisian internships were during Fashion Week. My first job was with the brand Each Other, and the other two were with PARTOW. I was also asked to be a part of TEDxBelleville, a TED conference in Paris that was organized by SDM faculty member Sabri Ben Radhia, and our team. Unfortunately, due to COVID, it was canceled.
You recently co-founded an online platform called Artists Connected. Can you tell us about it?
Yes! Lina Botyrius and I have just started Artists Connected, an online platform showcasing the creative work of young artists to potential clients to secure commissions and to get their names out into the industry. Our goal is to create a safe space where art can be appreciated while allowing easier access for students to make money and gain experience. We’re really excited to get Artists Connecting going.
Do you have any hobbies?
I love to bake and cook. It’s my favorite hobby, with a great reward!
What advice would you give incoming students?
Try everything. Say yes as much as you can! And walk everywhere to learn the city.
