Where are you from, and where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I lived in Colorado for most of my life until I moved to New York in 2018 to take a gap year after attending one year at a previous university.
Do you feel at home in Paris?
Yes, definitely. I have met a lot of great people in Paris. As long as I have great people around me, anywhere can really feel like home.
How does Paris inspire you in your work?
I come from a photography and film background. After my first semester studying at Parsons Paris, I found myself enjoying drawing more and more, until it became my primary medium for a period of time. I believe this fascination with drawing came from
my surroundings, my professors, and the many artists I’ve learned about during my time at Parsons.
What are some of your favorite classes?
I’ve enjoyed almost every class I’ve had at Parsons so far; the ones that really made an impact on me were Space and Materiality, Sustainable Systems, and Drawing/Imaging.
Where have you interned over the last two years?
After developing my personal network in Paris, I was able to do a graphic design internship with an event company based in Geneva.
What does your typical weekend look like?
I found myself enjoying the nightlife in Paris on weekends quite a bit. Something that my friends and I made somewhat of a ritual was having a Friday dinner every week where we could debrief and chat about our week and projects in our respective majors.
Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy running and working out in my free time. I also take any chance I have to explore this wonderful city to find my favorite parks, historical spaces, and cafés.
What advice would you give incoming students?
Make sure to have all of your essential needs met and planned out before moving to Paris, and always remember to try your hardest in class to participate in discussions and activities. It really enhances the experience.
