  • RSO* Registration Process

    *Registered Student Organization

Registration for new and returning student organizations is open through February 26, 2021.

For more information about registration requirements, please see the RSO Virtual Hub, Student Organization Basics Guide, and NarwhalNation.

For registration, student organizations are divided into the two tiers listed below.

    Student Organization Tiers

Tier 1: Organizations with or without an advisor that complete the registration process by December 4

Tier 2: Organizations with or without an advisor that complete the registration process by February 26

Please note: An advisor is optional for Tier 1 organizations for the 2020-2021 academic year only. While your organization may opt not to have an advisor, an On-Site Coordinator is still required for certain events, a role typically filled by an advisor. Therefore these groups must find and confirm a faculty or staff member to act as an On-Site Coordinator in these cases.

    New Organization Registration Requirements

    • Fill out the RSO Registration form on NarwhalNation.

    • Upload your constitution and a roster of at least five members who are currently enrolled New School students.

    • Identify the three primary officers of your organization (a treasurer must complete a finance training)*

    • Attend mandatory training sessions for Risk Management and Virtual Event Planning (the three primary officers from your organization must complete the quizzes for each training module), and Title IX training.

    • Identity and confirm an advisor, ensure they have completed the RSO Advisor Registration process by completing the RSO Advising Basics slide deck and the RSO Advisor Registration Form on NarwhalNation. (Advisors are optional.)

    • Sign the Student Leader Agreement (the three primary officers from your organization must read and sign the agreement).

*Organizations that will not be seeking funding from any university funding sources are not required to have a treasurer or complete the finance training.
