    Advising

'(in)tangible bodies' is an investigation of the inner qualities of gay and queer identified people. My research is based on how contemporary social networks, specifically gay dating websites and apps, heighten the value of personal image and promote self-objectification.

I'm inviting people from gay social networks to meet in person, and together create social sculptures that leave aside the physical qualities of the participants and capture our indexical traces. I encourage practicing self-awareness and introspection with the people I meet by asking them to describe their personality, their fears, and what they feel most proud about themselves. The stories are transcribed and later uploaded on a website as an act to return to the Internet the missing aspect of the virtual body.
