Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in Mexico. I lived there until I was 11, moved to Strasbourg, then to Miami.
What languages do you speak?
French, Spanish, and English.
Do you feel at home here in Paris?
Yes; I moved around a lot, and it made it easier. The hard part was adjusting to living without my parents, but Parsons is superaccommodating, so it eventually was a pretty easy move.
Does Paris inspire you?
Yes. I get a lot of ideas just by going to exhibitions and bringing a sketchbook. Growing up with the idea of Parsons and finally living here, it’s even better because it becomes yours.
What does your typical weekend look like?
Cooking, washing my clothes, homework, going to exhibits and museums.
What are your hobbies?
Reading a book in the metro, knitting, doodling characters while doing other things, because it clears my mind.
What do you think about Parsons Paris so far?
Definitely good, underrated, and should be considered more. Nice and small, welcoming. I like that the teachers bring their craft into their teaching; it makes the classes more interesting.
Did you do an internship?
Yes, as a dresser for Jean Paul Gautier in Paris Fashion Week. It was amazing — an opportunity to see how the garments were constructed and be inspired by them.
What advice would you give incoming students?
Take advantage of the opportunities Parsons has to offer.
