    Advising

Amanda Lewis is an artist and designer from Saint Louis. Her work aims to comment, augment and improve her relationship with nature and technology.

Her project, A Device for the Study of Scarred Landscapes, is an open source multi-layered pollution sensing device that both collects environmental data and creates generative sounds. The sounds, based on the data collected and on-site sound recordings, vary from low and steady to aggressively high-frequency, depending on the pollution level in the area studied. Through her field work, the artist critically examines her relationship with the earth.
