    Nicolas Guiraud

    Profile

    Nicolas Guiraud is a photographer and artist.

    After studying Economics and Philosophy in Paris, he started working in photography, collaborating with Magnum Photos agency where he was the Creative Director between 2003 and 2007. His work deals with the idea of Anthropocene and frontiers at large. His approach combines documentary photography with speculative utopias.

    Guiraud works on assignment for magazines among which the Financial Times magazine, M / Le Monde, Vanity Fair, Elle, Libération, Zadig and Atlantico. His work has been exhibited in various galeries and museums including Rencontre d'Arles, Palais de Tokyo, 104 Paris, MAK Vienna, Galerie GZ, Temple and Jorg Brockman.

    He has also published two books: Anthropocene with French writer Marie Darrieussecq, and a book of 50 official portraits.

    In 2009, he co-founded Atelier 37.2 with Francesca Bonesio, focusing on Anthropocene topics through micro-architecture, inhabited sculptures and Land art installations.
