Profile
Mathilde Roussel is an artist-researcher based in Paris. She currently teaches at Parsons Paris and ArTeC graduate school at University Paris 8. She graduated with an MFA from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris-Cergy (ENSAPC), with an Art and Technology Research Post-Master Certificate from ArTeC Université Paris 8, and she has a PhD in research-creation from Université Paris 8. Roussel has been a visiting artist and guest critic at the University of Iowa and at Watkins College of Art in Nashville.
With the artist Matthieu Raffard she attempts to tell the functioning of our digital technologies, to investigate the future of our planet, and to invent new ecological imaginaries. Raffard-Roussel’s recent exhibitions include solo shows at Octave Cowbell (Metz), Galerie D-Fondation Fiminco (Romainville), the Invisible Dog Art Center (Brooklyn), Pioneer Works (Brooklyn); group shows at Octopus Coop (Paris), Media Art Festival Arad (Romania), Villa Belleville (Paris), Salon de Montrouge (Paris); and a performance at Jeu de Paume (Paris).
