Profile
Dana-Fiona Armour is an artist born in Willich, Germany.
She lives and works in Paris, France, and holds a masters degree of École nationale supérieur des Beaux-Arts of Paris (ENSBA).
Defining herself as an artist-researcher, Dana-Fiona Armour aims to transcend the boundaries between matter and species, acting as an interpreter between humankind and other living beings. Sometimes conceived in collaboration with scientists, her installations and sculptures are imbued with a strange sensibility. They reflect on our ever-changing reality, searching for a way to create a new symbiosis and experiments and creating uncanny hybrid objects in the process. These examine life by isolating different aspects of it, looking for a better connection and understanding. Armour is set on changing the current collective mindset, and considers society’s alienation from nature as a dangerous behavior and a threat.
Dana-Fiona is represented by Andréhn-Schiptjenko Galerie in Paris and Stockholm.
She had several solo exhibitions, including at Andréhn-Schiptjenko, Stockholm, 2023; Collection Lambert, Avignon, 2022; and Poush Manifesto, Clichy, 2020. She also took part in group shows at NOOR Festival, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 2023, Palazzo Bolani, Venice, 2022; 19M, Paris, 2022; Poush Manifesto, Clichy, 2021; Maison Guerlain, Paris, 2021, among others.
