    Profile

    Claudia A. Fontu is Professor of French language, French literature and cinema, and Theater at the University of California, University of Southern California, and Columbia University in Paris. She also teaches oral French language practice and Pronunciation at the Institute of Phonetics, Paris.

    After completing six years of Doctoral Studies in American literature at Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, she has been invited as a Visiting Scholar at USC, Los Angeles, where she taught classes of French language and civilization. She holds both an M.A. in French literature and an M.A. in American literature from Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, and an M.A. in Contemporary Philosophy. The City of Lights as both a muse and an open laboratory for linguistic, artistic and literary creation is her main field of interest and the topic of her language, literature and cinema courses.

    A former radio journalist, she is also a painter.
