    Benjamin Thorel

    Profile

    Benjamin Thorel is a writer, editor and curator. He is one of the founders of After 8 Books, a bookshop and publishing house in Paris. He holds a MA in Arts & Langages from the EHESS, Paris (2012).

    As part of Thorel's research on contemporary publishing practices in art, he has co-organized seminars including, “There’s more to life than books, but not much more” at Art Metropole (Toronto) in 2013; and in 2018, at the Summer University of the Kandinsky Library at the Centre Georges Pompidou.

    He is the author of Telle est la télé: L’art contemporain et la télévision (Cercle d’Art, 2007), and has contributed to various journals, magazines, artists’ monographs and exhibition catalogs. Recent publications include Faux Pas: Selected Writings & Drawings by Amy Sillman (co-editor, After 8 Books, 2020); Neïl Beloufa: People Love War Data & Travels (co-editor, After 8 Books, 2021).
