• Third-Year Mainstage

This fall, Drama will present a third-year Mainstage production for the first time. It will be an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist written by Neil Bartlett and directed by Melissa Maxwell.

    Second-Year Mainstage

MFA actors are featured in a production in the School of Drama Theater in the spring semester of their second year. This production is their first opportunity to work with professional directors, designers, and stage managers, with the full support of the College of Performing Arts Production team.

Notable past productions include Balm in Gilead by Lanford Wilson, Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, and Middletown by Will Eno.

The fall 2019 production will be The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by Melissa Crespo.

    New Visions Directing Festival

The work of our graduating MFA directors will showcased in two parts over the course of their third year.

The Director's Lab, an evening of works in process, will be presented at The Wooster Group's Performance Garage on November 15-16, 2019.

In the spring semester of their third year, each of the directors will helm a production of full-length classic and contemporary works performed in a repertory setting. These productions highlight the talents of our graduating directors and provide an introduction to each director’s work and aesthetic.

The spring 2020 festival will feature MFA directors Nigel Barnes, Diane Machin, and Pauls Macs.
