Jerzy Gwiazdowski is a writer/performer who has appeared on Broadway, originated roles in new plays (NYC and regionally) and made numerous film/TV/streaming appearances. His plays have been produced on four continents. He is part of the artistic leadership of The CRY HAVOC Company, an NYC-based new work development organization.
At the New School, Jerzy teaches capstone and professional development courses in the Dramatic Arts BFA and serves as a faculty advisor for student-led work. He is a member of the Drama Advisory Faculty, College of Performing Arts Executive Committee, Drama Faculty Council, and the University Faculty Senate. He is an active member of ACT-UAW 7902, where he has served on the 2022 Bargaining Committee and the Joint Council.
Jerzy has been a guest lecturer at The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University and NSKI University in Oslo, Norway. He was also a featured guest artist and lecturer at the inaugural Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival.
Jerzy is co-creator of Vocabaret, a monthly wordplay variety show since 2019. A ten-time champion at the O.Henry Pun-Off World Championships, Jerzy is pretty sure he's the winningest wordplay competitor in the world.
His recent project, THE LIE (a True Story), is a solo show about the greatest acting performance in history—which was only ever seen by one seven-year-old child.

This short play premiered simultaneously in Norway, Germany, and Australia as part of the CRY HAVOC Company’s 15th Anniversary Worldwide Festival, which saw plays developed with the company produced on all seven continents in November 2012.
