    Cynthia Reynolds

    Profile

    Cynthia Reynolds was trained and certified by the American Center for the Alexander Technique in 1987. She also earned a post-graduate training Certificate from Rivka Cohen, with whom she has been studying since 1987. Her teaching was the subject of a feature article in Dance Teacher Magazine’s September 2001 issue. She has given workshops and group classes in several American College Dance Festivals, and in various venues in New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Greece, and the Czech Republic. Along with her teaching at ASDS, she maintains a private Alexander practice and assists in training Alexander teachers. Other post-graduate teachers she has worked with include Barbara Kent, June Ekman, Lucia Walker, Peter Ribeaux, and John Nicolls. She is certified by the American Society for the Alexander Technique. As a dancer, she was a soloist with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company from 1976 to 1993. Both independently and with the Hawkins Company, she has performed and taught dance throughout the United States, Europe, and the Far East. She has been on the faculties of the University of Maryland (College Park), Hunter College, and New York University.
