    Public Transportation

The New School's location makes it easy to use New York City's expansive subway, bus system, and bike network.

The university's bike resources guide (see above, right) contains information about safely riding on campus and other tips. The New York City Department of Transportation also offers a cycling map of all five boroughs.

Biking in New York is an excellent alternative to other forms of transportation. In response to a university-wide survey, the following priority strategies to promote cycling at the New School have been identified and are being implemented:

    • Installation of secure bicycle parking in all residence halls
    • Provision of secure indoor bicycle parking where possible
    • Generation of additional cycling resources (e.g., maps, pamphlets)

Bike storage registration is available for New School students, faculty, and staff on the L2 level of the University Center.
