Reservable in Engage for 30-minute increments.

The Admin Hub includes four types of meeting and conference rooms:

• Small meeting rooms accommodate one or two people.
• Medium meeting rooms accommodate two to four people.
• Large meeting rooms accommodate four to six people.
• Conference rooms accommodate six or more people.

All rooms can be reserved in Engage for 30-minute periods for a maximum of four hours per day. In Engage, you will also find the attributes (technology or other amenities) available in each room. Most rooms have been equipped with white boards or “idea walls,” which are excellent for in-person collaboration. Other rooms have been configured as Zoom Rooms, described below.

Zoom Rooms
These are software-equipped rooms that integrate audio conferencing, wireless screen sharing, and video conferencing. Zoom Rooms are unique in that the rooms themselves, not the attendees, are the host of a meeting. The built-in camera has a wide lens to capture attendees who are present on-site; a separate monitor displays all remote meeting attendees. Although a laptop is not required in order to host a meeting, please bring yours if you wish to share your screen or files during a Zoom Room meeting. The spaces that are currently configured as Zoom Rooms are D1717, D1724, and K607.

Generally Zoom Rooms are equipped with the following technology:

• A touch-screen controller
• Single or dual monitors, some with touch-screen capabilities
• A display panel outside of the room, indicating the room’s availability 

Basic controller functions include:

• Meet Now: start an instant meeting
• Meeting List: start scheduled meetings as the host
• Join: join a meeting using the meeting ID or personal link name
• Presentation: display on-screen instructions to start screen sharing

Reservable in Engage for a full day.

The Admin Hub has a variety of workstations, or desks, for individual use. Workstations are reserved for the full day in Engage. We have designed three types of workstations, at which you can work from your own laptop:

• Laptop workstations with one auxiliary monitor
• PC desktop workstations with two auxiliary monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse
• Mac desktop workstations with two auxiliary monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse

All laptop workstations are outfitted with the cables required to connect and power your laptop, which you will need to bring with you each day. You will also need to bring a keyboard and mouse if you prefer to use auxiliary devices instead of those built into your laptop. Desktop workstations are available for those who do not have a New School or personal laptop and those who need additional processing power. Some workstations have been configured with sit/stand adaptors for ergonomic comfort. Additionally, a small number of privacy screens are available at the reception desk for those who work with sensitive information. Please review the amenities of each workstation in Engage before making your reservation.

Quiet Zone
A section of the 79 Fifth Avenue Hub has been designated as a Quiet Zone. This area contains eight workstations for quiet heads-down work and a phone booth for calls. In the Quiet Zone, please keep noise to a minimum and use headphones if necessary.

The Collaboration Lounge is a multi-function space for solo work, collaboration, socialization, and relaxation. We hope these spaces will inspire creativity, promote team building, and foster a greater sense of community at the university. The Collaboration/Lounge does not require a reservation, so feel free to grab a stool and work at one of the communal tables, enjoy a cup of coffee, or gab with your co-workers on the sofas. The Collaboration/Lounge spaces are also the designated places for eating in the hubs.

Need to store your winter boots or gym bag while you are in the Admin Hub? Lockers are conveniently located in the hub. Our lockers are operated with a self-selected PIN number (like a gym locker) and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can even use your smartphone to operate the lock through the OCS Smart app. Watch this video to set up the OCS Smart app, available in the Apple App Store or Google Play. Refer to Admin Hub Lockers for more information.

Please note that lockers are only for use during the work day; you may not store items in them overnight. Items left behind will be discarded by Security at the end of the day. The New School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Our Admin Hub would not be complete without Support Areas to facilitate work on campus. In addition to offering the necessities (restrooms, coat closets, pantry), we have designated areas in the hub for help, quiet, and privacy. In Engage, you can locate and reserve support areas (where applicable) by selecting Spaces and filtering for the appropriate "Type."

Phone Booths
Reservable in Engage for 30-minute increments.

Harking back to earlier times, we have incorporated Phone Booths into our Admin Hub. These glass-enclosed spaces are soundproof, allowing for confidential calls and virtual meetings. Each Phone Booth features a seat and table or tray-table for your laptop. Most Phone Booths are for individual callers, but some can accommodate two individuals for a private conversation. The phone booths are located in Collaboration/Lounge spaces and designated quiet areas, to allow for conversations that do not disturb others. To use a booth, please make a reservation in Engage. Reservations are made in 30-minute periods, for a maximum of four hours per day.

Mother's Room
Reservable in Engage for 30-minute increments.

Reservable in Engage for 30-minute increments, this is a peaceful, private space in the Admin Hub. Like the lactation booths found in the University Center and the List Center, the Mother’s Room is a space designated for mothers to pump and store milk during the day. When not being used for that purpose, this space can also be used for quiet meditation. The Mother’s Room has a white-noise machine to block out noise, a comfortable chair, and a mini-fridge.

Reception
The Admin Hub features a Reception desk for help throughout the day. You can check out and borrow privacy screens and other small tech items for the day from Reception. All items must be returned by the end of the day. The Reception staff are also responsible for enforcing the Hub House Rules. Please familiarize yourself with the Code of Conduct before using the hubs.

Print Center
A small quantity of office supplies as well as limited print/copy services are available in the Print Center. Print instructions are posted within the hubs and are also available in our Admin Hub Printing guide.
