The Payroll Office within Human Resources at The New School manages all employee wages and stipends, processes timesheets for all hourly employees, withholds all appropriate taxes on wages, files payroll tax reports and creates W-2 and 1042-S statements, and deducts benefits and other authorized items from employee wages. Our primary mission is to provide prompt and accurate payments to all faculty, staff and student employees at The New School.
W-2 Tax Statements for 2012 have been mailed to each New School employee's home address of record. Please allow five business days for your statement to arrive. When you receive your W-2, check it immediately to see that your name, address, and social security number are correct and that you can read all the information clearly.
You can see your 2012 W-2 statement online by logging into MyNewSchool, selecting the Employee tab, and opening the W-2 Tax Information link in the Self-Service menu. You can print a copy of your W-2 using the Printable W-2 button at the bottom of the W-2 Tax Information page.
If you need help interpreting the W-2 form, you can download the Explanation of Amounts Reported on the Form W-2 (PDF)*. If you would like to understand in detail the calculation of your taxable wages, you can download and complete the Taxable Wage Worksheet (PDF) using your own payroll information. Both documents can be found under the Forms and Tools tab.
If do not receive your W-2 Statement by February 15 or you still have questions after reading the W-2 Tax Information document, please send an email to PayrollHelp@newschool.edu, or call us at 212.229.5674 x4963.
Your 2012 W-2 form is now available on MyNewSchool. Click the "Employee" tab; then, under the heading "Self Service," click "W-2 Tax Information." If you have any concerns or questions about your information, contact email@example.com.
