    Hostile Design In NYC
My project, The Hostile Design in NYC, is a book that documents, defines, and analyzes designed elements of hostility in public space in New York City. This initiative informs individuals of their rights and access to public space and introduces and validates an awareness of the physical and abstract designed elements that are meant to discourage public space use. The book is broken into seven different forms of hostility that are encountered in public space, including Quiet, Violent, Structural, Absent, Designed, Social, and Financial. Within each section is a definition and photographic examples of each type of hostility. The cover of the book is made of sharp rocks, a physical manifestation of Hostile Form seen throughout public space in New York City.
