COMTOTE Kitchen Food Scrap Collection Bin
My project, Comtote, is a portable kitchen food scrap collection solution that empowers individuals to participate in local composting programs. Utilizing municipal Compost Drop-off Locations is one of the easiest ways for residents to participate in composting programs. Comtote streamlines and modernizes the process of collecting, storing, and transporting food scraps while considering the products’ place in the kitchen and on the body. The compressible silicone bin fits in all freezers for odor-free food scrap storage, and its compressible design optimizes space so more food scraps can be stored. Comtote’s contemporary and fresh design looks to attract and inform potential composters who simply need a clear product to help them start. Comtote shifts the perception of composting from rotting food to a valuable substance that is to be collected and responsibly passed on. Composting is a collaborative community activity that will make a more sustainable, healthy, and beautiful world.
