    I long for a hug

My thesis project, I long for a hug, is a two-channel moving image installation that cycles between three unanswered questions presented on the screen: "What does soul loss feel like?" "Where does the soul go?" And, "What do we do in its absence?"

The work functions like a monograph in motion, visually depicting a theory of collective soul loss and proposing decreation—the unmaking of oneself—as a ritual form of healing. Through a curation-as-method process and assisted nonfiction—an artistic practice involving direct intervention with narratives or systems and undirected outcomes—the installation weaves together moving images and interview audio that resist resolution, instead gesturing toward emotional and metaphysical truths.
