    Advising

This thesis aims to explore the nature of dreams and the translation of dreamscapes into visual art. Growing up with sleep apnea, I hardly dreamt, and never remembered my dreams. After being diagnosed in 2010 and beginning treatment, I began to dream vividly. To date, my dreams are incredibly evocative, and I keep a dream journal. The journal consists mostly of sketches, quotes, and certain words that come to mind upon waking. For each dream, I have created one or two paintings. This process yielded over one hundred works on paper, created with a mixture of oil paint, acrylic ink, and mixed media. The project culminated in a book featuring selected works, accompanied by thoughts on dreams from Carl Jung and words that epitomize the collection as a whole.
