    Rendered Realities

My project, Rendered Realities, is a responsive website that assembles and explores a collection of 3D digital artworks sourced entirely from Are.na. I designed and coded the site from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a course focused on media integration, APIs, and custom Web development. The idea arose from my interest in 3D design as both a visual language and a way of thinking. Using Are.na’s API, I collected more than 30 pieces—ranging from virtual environments and rendered sculptures to procedural animations and speculative objects. These works, created by different artists and studios, all explore ways digital forms can be used to simulate, distort, or question reality. I built the website not just as a gallery but as a spatial interface. The pieces are organized in a grid by material, scale, and interactivity. Users can hover, filter, and make connections between works that might otherwise seem unrelated. The site thus becomes a kind of rendered space itself—revealing the way interface shapes interpretation and meaning. Rendered Realities serves as a prototype for ways digital collections can live online. Both an archive and an experience, it reflects my interest in coding as a design tool—one that brings together structure, navigation, and interaction to facilitate storytelling. daizhuwu.github.io/links
