    Flyball

My senior thesis, Flyball, consists of a 32-page picture book and a toy collection of a reptile and amphibian baseball team, The Wormies. In the book, I present scientific facts about the species of the players, which shape their personalities and influence the way they play the game. Drawing on my lengthy career as an average softball third baseman, I aim to re-create the experience of being on a sports team, with all the different personalities and shenanigans involved.

The toys were 3D printed using polylactic acid (PLA) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and sanded, painted, and covered in fabric. The illustrations were created with colored pencil and gouache, then collaged digitally in Procreate.
