My senior thesis, Too Born for Intelligence, is an experimental animation in the form of six 3D-printed programmed rotary flipbooks. In creating the work, which visually unfolds a short story, I brought together my love of animation and the tender intimacy of children’s books. Inspired by zoetropes, kinetoscopes, and phenakistoscopes, the work makes the process of viewing a curious adventure.
