    Blendex
Human imagination involves the mental combination of existing concepts. Blendex is a creative tool for ideation in which the features of commonplace products are systematically combined to generate new items, producing a multiplicity of concepts that the designer can refine. For this project, I selected from the hundreds of ideations I produced to create three functional furniture pieces: a Box Table (a storage coffee table that sits on four open “flaps”), an Easel Chair (a seat with a height-adjustable back and interchangeable canvas surfaces), and a Faucet Lamp (a fixture with a curved neck from which light pours poetically). Embodying new relationships between form and function, these objects allow us to appreciate everyday items and see them in a new way.
