Sonya is a designer and researcher focused on equity, entrepreneurship, and learning within architecture. She received her Master of Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and is practicing in New York. Sonya previously studied architecture at The University of Bath, TU Delft, and ETH Zurich. In 2020, Sonya developed a workplace-equity tracking tool in MIT’s designX program, and in 2019, she built her first project at Hellowood’s 2019 International Architecture Festival. She was a design instructor for Harvard’s Design Discovery program and a student advisory committee member for Harvard University’s 30th Presidential search. As a practitioner, she focuses on adaptive reuse and its opportunities and has worked in London and New York, focusing on this in combination with various cultural contexts. As an educator and researcher, Sonya centers ideas of collaboration and equity in her curricula. She is working towards publishing her research on the emergence and development of Women-oriented architectural pedagogies in the US.
