Simon David is Founding Principal of OSD|Outside, and is Adjunct Faculty in the School of Constructed Environments. Simon is a professional landscape architect, urban designer and trained architect with fourteen years experience in the design and implementation of resilient urban environments and public open spaces. He was Project Leader for the First Phase of the BIG U, at Bjarke Ingels Group, a $920 Million Coastal Resiliency Project, where he also led ASLA award-winning projects for both The Spiral Roofscape and the Pittsburgh Lower Hill Master Plan. Simon has worked on Brooklyn Bridge Park, as a Senior Project Manager at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, where he also led the design and documentation for extensive portions of Tulsa Gathering Place, a $440 Million Riverfront Park. Simon also led the winning competition team for the Hudson Yards Open Space and Streetscapes, the largest private development in the history of New York City.
In 2011, he was awarded the Gabriel Prize by the Western European Architectural Foundation. Simon has lectured and published internationally on resiliency and urban landscapes.
