Sara Idacavage is a fashion historian and archivist with a background in fashion journalism. She has managed the Parsons Fashion Study Collection and served as a fashion specialist for the The New School Archives and Special Collections. Sara has also worked as an archivist for prominent American fashion designers and interned in the costume collection at the Museum of the City of New York. In addition to writing a history column for Fashionista and serving as an Associate Editor of The Fashion Studies Journal, Sara has contributed to the Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion, as well as peer-reviewed academic journals that include Fashion Theory, Art Libraries Journal, and Fashion, Style & Popular Culture. Outside of teaching graduate and undergraduate courses at Parsons, the Pratt Institute, and the Fashion Institute of Technology, Sara has conducted a series of history lectures and design workshops at universities across China.
